Phoenix Marketing is a marketing agency for physiotherapists. If your clinical results are excellent but the appointment book has gaps, the problem is not your care. It is that the patients searching right now are booking with a clinic they found first. We build the marketing that gets your clinic in front of people ready to book, and turns a search into an appointment.
Prefer to work through it yourself first? Our guide to how physio clinics get more patients ranks the five channels in the order worth fixing them.
We take a complete approach, covering every part of getting your clinic found, chosen and booked. A typical setup includes:
We are not a generalist agency that treats a physio clinic like a boutique clothing label. We work with clinics and allied health, so we know a patient usually books local, often searches in discomfort, and picks from the first clinics they see. We focus on the few things that actually fill the book: getting found in local search, showing up for the right paid searches, a website that makes booking easy, and reviews that build trust. No jargon, no fluff, and no long lock in before you see momentum.
It depends on where you start and how competitive your area is. Google Ads can bring enquiries within days, because you are paying to appear the moment someone searches for a physio. Google Business Profile and local SEO take longer, usually a few months to build, and then they compound and keep delivering bookings without paying per click. Most clinics run both: ads to turn on leads now, and search to build a base that keeps paying off. We are honest about timelines from day one.
For a clinic, one new patient often means a full course of treatment and years of repeat visits and referrals. That is why we measure what matters: booked appointments and enquiries, not clicks and impressions. We build the plan around your average patient value and your capacity, so the spend is tied to real return. If something is not paying its way, we change it.
Marketing that fills the book is built over months, not days, so we work on a minimum three month engagement. That gives the foundations time to take hold, the ads time to gather data and improve, and search time to start moving. You get a clear plan up front, work delivered every month, and a simple report on bookings and enquiries. After the first three months we continue month to month, and you can review or pause whenever you like.
Good marketing needs to look the part. When you need it, we also handle the creative that makes a clinic look established and trustworthy: logo and branding, clinic signage, professional photography, and simple ads. It is all optional, and it all points back to the same goal, more of the right patients.
Most agencies sell you channels. We sell you outcomes: more of the right patients, from your local area, at a cost that makes sense for your clinic. We handle the search presence, the ads, the website and the reviews as one connected system, and we report on what it actually produced. You treat the patients, we keep them booking.
We have grown allied health businesses through search, including the SportsHealth Physiotherapy Clinic, a clinic we helped get found and booked through local search.
Google Business Profile, site speed, mobile, and the basics Google needs to trust you.
Target your clinic plus your suburbs, and build the signals that rank you where patients look.
Tightly targeted Google Ads so bookings come in while your SEO builds.
Reviews, results, and simple monthly reporting so you always know the return.
Physiotherapy is one of the 16 professions regulated by AHPRA, and the National Law restricts how a regulated health service can be advertised. Most agencies do not know this, which is how clinics end up in trouble for doing what worked for a cafe.
The rule that catches the most clinics is testimonials. You cannot use testimonials about clinical care, treatment, diagnosis or results in advertising you control. A Sydney physiotherapy practice has already been penalised for displaying its Google reviews on its own website.
What is actually allowed is more useful than most clinics realise:
So the answer is not to avoid reviews. It is to ask freely and display carefully, and to build the review habit into discharge in a way that does not create a compliance problem six months later.
The same care applies to claims. Anything that promises an outcome, a timeframe or a level of comfort needs to be defensible. A Perth dental practice was formally cautioned for advertising "painless dentistry" because no procedure can guarantee that for every patient. The physiotherapy equivalents are just as easy to write by accident.
We are not your compliance adviser and this is not legal advice. Your obligations sit with you and with AHPRA. What we do is write the campaign so the question is asked before it goes live rather than after a complaint.
Physiotherapists in Australia are first-contact practitioners. Someone with a sore back can book with you directly without seeing a GP first, and most do.
That makes physiotherapy different from most allied health. A podiatrist or a dietitian leans harder on referral relationships because more of their funded work arrives that way. You can be found and booked by a person who has never spoken to a doctor about the problem.
The exception is funding. Medicare only subsidises physiotherapy through a Chronic Disease Management plan written by a GP, which covers up to five allied health services in a calendar year. Private health extras need no referral and most patients claim on the spot.
So you have two quite different audiences, and they need different things from you:
Only the first is winnable with marketing, and it is the larger of the two for most private clinics. That is where we put the effort, and the referral side is handled as relationship work rather than advertising.
