Phoenix Marketing is a marketing agency for law firms. If your enquiries have gone quiet, or the wrong matters keep coming in, the problem is usually who is finding you, not the quality of your advice. We fix that.
Prefer to work through it yourself first? Our guide to how law firms get more clients ranks the five channels in the order worth fixing them.
We cover every part of getting your firm found, shortlisted and contacted. A typical setup includes:
Legal marketing is not the same as selling a product. Your clients are often in the worst week of their year, comparing three firms and deciding on trust before price. Advertising is also regulated, so claims about outcomes and comparisons with other firms need care. We write and run campaigns that stay inside the rules and still bring the right matters in.
It depends on your practice areas and how competitive your area is. Google Ads can bring enquiries within days. Local SEO and your Google Business Profile usually take two to three months to move, then keep building from there.
For most firms, one decent matter covers a month of marketing several times over. We report on cost per enquiry by practice area so you can see which work is worth chasing.
Marketing that brings in matters is built over months, not weeks. We work to a three month minimum so there is time to fix the foundations, get campaigns running, and show you real numbers.
Good marketing needs to look the part. When you need it we can handle team photography, video, brand refreshes and print, so your material matches the standard of your advice.
Most agencies sell you channels. We sell you outcomes: more qualified enquiries, in the practice areas you want, with a clear picture of what each one costs.
We have grown real professional services businesses through search, ads and content, and we bring that same approach to legal.
Google Business Profile, site speed, mobile, and the basics that decide whether someone calls or clicks away.
Target your practice areas plus your suburbs, and build the signals that put you in the map pack.
Tightly targeted Google Ads so enquiries come in while your SEO builds.
Reviews, results, and simple monthly reporting so you always know the return.
Under the Legal Profession Uniform Law, a firm in Victoria or New South Wales must give a client a costs disclosure once legal costs are likely to exceed $750, excluding GST and disbursements. Up to a higher threshold of $3,000 you can use the short uniform standard disclosure form instead of the full disclosure.
So the obligation to explain cost already exists. It just starts after someone has engaged you.
Look at most firm websites and there is nothing about cost at all before that point. No indication of how you charge, whether the first conversation is free, or what a straightforward matter tends to run to. The person with the problem is left to guess, and guessing is where they decide to leave it for now.
Research commissioned by the Victorian Legal Services Board and Commissioner found that consumers rarely shop around and are frequently confused about legal costs. That confusion is the single most common reason an enquiry never gets made.
You do not need a price list. What moves the needle is smaller than that:
That is four pieces of information, and it removes the reason most people stall.
Legal services is one of the few sectors where the marketing itself is regulated, and the rules are not the same in every state. Any agency that treats a law firm like a plumbing business will eventually get you into trouble.
Personal injury is where the restrictions bite hardest. In Queensland, the Personal Injury Proceedings Act 2002 prohibits advertising personal injury services on radio, television, cinema and recorded telephone messages outright. Print advertising and advertising on sites other than your own are limited to your name, contact details and areas of practice, with no images and no self-promotional statements. New South Wales takes a similar approach. Queensland is the strictest regime in the country.
Your own website is treated differently. There you can explain how personal injury law operates, what a person's rights are, and the conditions under which you are prepared to act.
These are not theoretical rules. In February 2026 a Queensland practitioner was fined $30,000 after QCAT found that a common approach to "No Win, No Fee" advertising amounted to professional misconduct.
What that means in practice for a campaign:
We are not your compliance adviser and this is not legal advice. Your obligations sit with you and with your professional body. What we do is build the campaign so the question comes up before the spend does, rather than afterwards.
Referrals still produce most matters for most firms, and nothing here is an argument against that. The change is what happens next.
Someone is given your name over coffee. They search it that evening before calling. What loads is your Google listing, your reviews and your website, and that is the first real impression, not the recommendation itself.
A warm referral can go cold in that gap. A firm with good reviews where the newest is from two years ago reads as one that has stopped. A site that says nothing about cost sends the person back to thinking about it.
Fixing that is cheaper than winning new referral sources, and it improves every referral you already get. We have set out the full order of work in our guide to how law firms get more clients.
High emotion, urgent searches, decided almost entirely on trust.
Volume work where price and turnaround are compared side by side.
Older clients, longer consideration, strong local reputation matters.
Fewer enquiries, much higher value, worth targeting properly.
Time sensitive searches from both employees and employers.
Competitive and heavily advertised, so targeting has to be tight.

It depends on your practice areas, your location, and how fast you want to grow. Most firms we work with sit between a focused local SEO retainer and a combined SEO plus Google Ads program. We will quote once we have looked at your market.
Google Ads can bring enquiries within days. Local SEO and your Google Business Profile usually take two to three months to show, and keep improving after that.
Not always. If your current site is slow, hard to use on a phone, or does not make it obvious how to get in touch, we will fix those things first. A full rebuild is only worth it when the site is holding everything else back.
Legal advertising rules limit claims about outcomes and comparisons with other firms, and they vary between states. We keep claims to what can be substantiated: your experience, your practice areas, your team and genuine Google reviews.
